easypeasy charity golf day event

on friday 1st september, easypeasy proudly sponsored a charity golfing event in aid of raising funds for sail4recovery, a charity that is dedicated to providing sailing experiences for underprivileged children. the experience will be taster sailing days on the norfolk broads and then a special adventure from lowestoft to holland and back.

the day was a chance to raise funds for other organisations too, such as the benjamin foundation, excelsior, the nancy oldfield trust, norfolk community foundation, east coast college, and priscilla bacon hospice.

the idea of the day and sail4recovery came from vince pearson, having raised money for the sir norman lamb mental health fund last year embarking on 2 legs of the clipper round the world yacht race. from the start of 2023 vince has been raising funds for s4r, he sourced the excelsior trust in lowestoft and the nancy oldfield trust in neatishead as both offered great programmes to allow the opportunity for the children to sail and improve their well-being, confidence, and resilience.

east coast college and the benjamin foundation will put forward the young people that they feel will benefit most from the sailing experience on offer.

in addition, with the support from richard maxwell who runs the oasis golf society, money will be raised for the priscilla bacon hospice. this organisation is very close to both richard and vince.

while easypeasy sponsored the event, we also provided a vw golf that could have been won by getting a hole in one on the 17th hole, unfortunately no one won this.

sail4recovery needed to raise £15,000 for the opportunity to take the children sailing, and they have absolutely smashed it!! (final figure tbc)
